Dietsmann hosts Operation and Maintenance seminar in Iraq
On Sunday, 20 November, Dietsmann hosted a seminar in Basrah , at which the company presented its activities to southern Iraqi Oil & Gas industry representatives. The conference was attended by more than 80 senior representatives from national and international Oil & Gas, power production companies and state institutions.
Dietsmann Chairman & CEO Peter Kütemann and Deputy Vice Chairman & Managing Director Marco Arata opened the half-day event at the Mnawi Basha Hotel by outlining Dietmann’s activities in key regions around the world, including Iraq. Following a presentation on co-host Mesopotamia’s activities, Dietsmann’s Regional Director, Massimo Antonietty and Regional Development Manager Alessandro Pitrone presented Dietsmann’s approach to ‘Technical Excellence’, including training, nationalization, maintenance engineering and inspection, technical support and Dietsmann commitment to the highest HSE standards in all the markets in which it operates.
The many attendees, including representatives from South Gas Company, Oil Pipeline Company, South Oil Company, Zubair Field Operating Division (Eni), South Refinery Company, General Electric Energy Production Company, the Iraqi Ministry Of Electricity and the Basra Training Oil & Gas Institute, talked to Dietsmann executives about opportunities for specific and further development actions in Iraq and showed great interest in the company and in its potential to support to the development of a maintenance service culture in the country.
Following a lunch, Peter Kütemann and Marco Arata closed the day with a final speech on the increasingly important role of professional operation and maintenance in the Iraqi energy sector. Given the success of this event, Dietsmann is already looking at the feasibility of a similar event in the Iraqi city Erbil in the near future.
