As one of Dietsmann’s youngest affiliates, Dietsmann Kuwait was invited to give a keynote speech at the ’Maintenance & Reliability Symposium 2020’ held in Kuwait City, organized by the Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability (GMSR). The theme of the symposium was ‘A Journey towards Excellence.’ Dietsmann also had a booth at the associated exhibition area.
KIPIC (Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company), Dietsmann’s client in Kuwait with respect to the major ‘Al-Zour’ refinery project, was the proud host of the symposium, with its CEO, Mr. Hatem Al-Awadi, holding an executive keynote at the start of the symposium.
Over 300 participants from a number of Middle-East countries were also present.
Regional Manager Alberto Ruggieri and the ’Al-Zour’ Project Manager Oscar Allocchio also represented Dietsmann at the symposium.
Duco Drenth, Dietsmann Smart Labs business development director, gave a keynote speech titled: ‘MEI, Robotics & Data – The Route to Intelligent and Reliable Operations’. The presentation focussed on the influence and implementation of new technology developments to existing and new Oil & Gas production systems and to the associated working methodologies; with particular focus on the important – joined – role of Robotics and Digitalization.
A number of examples of state-of-the-art robotic solutions, coupled to ‘Big Data’ technologies, were shown and the enormous challenges that lie ahead of the industry to create the energy production installations of the future, were highlighted.
After the speech, Dietsmann was invited by KIPIC management to come back in the near future to discuss further on how ’New Technology’ could be used in the Kuwaiti assets, and how to bring best-in-class technology into the O&M activities in Al-Zour.
