On 13 May 2015 the Qualification College was officially inaugurated by Dietsmann’s Board of Directors. The Qualification College is located in the village of Boussens, 5 kilometers from Dietsmann’s Salies du Salat facilities in South West France. The total training area is 500m² and includes a 400m² workshop.
With the creation of the Qualification College Dietsmann has the facilities in-house to enable employees to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to maintain older-generation equipment. This training and certification system will mean Dietsmann can guarantee to its clients that the maintenance carried out will be of the highest quality for the remaining lifetime of their machinery.
Rotating machines similar to the ones Dietsmann maintains at the mature production sites have been installed in the workshop. Pumps, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, and sets of the most frequently used parts are also displayed for training purposes. A dedicated room, identical to the one Dietsmann has on site, is fully equipped with the new equipment for metrology training.
The primary objective is to certificate the skills of Dietsmann’s maintenance staff on older-generation reciprocating compressors and in the near future the certification process will be extended to include Dietsmann’s other core businesses, such as electricity, instrumentation and HVAC. The College will prepare Dietsmann’s newly hired technicians, and support the mobility of experienced technicians by certificating them on the equipment they will encounter during their new assignments. In addition to the business certification courses the College will also provide technical training courses.
Once the College is fully operational between 150 and 200 people of all nationalities will come to Boussens each year for training courses. This will contribute towards the local economy.
The Company currently employs a total workforce of over 5700 people.
